A cast bronze lantern reproduction from the last half of the 18th century. The lantern, and the arm suspending it, are sand-cast in bronze and hand-chased to enhance the appliqué's outstanding detail. The fixture reflects the trend that began in the mid-1700's to restrain the use of leaf detail and move on to more simplified ornaments.
