A very special series of lanterns in a Flowered or Crosscut   style. The urn and smoke bell are hand blown in lead crystal by Italian artisans. The crystal is then cut and etched by the artisan. When his artistry is complete, the artisan signs the base of the crystal urn. Gold plated metalwork complements the crystal lantern.

Many of the lanterns have glass or crystal "smoke bells" at their tops. Historically, the smoke bell provided an important function. In the 18th Century, paint was a luxury. A homeowner could not afford to repaint a ceiling frequently. Therefore, a lantern would have a glass "smoke bell" to catch the smoke and soot from the burning candles or oil before it discolored the ceiling.
