Prefinish. To maintain our position of leadership
and our tradition of excellence in the prefinish flush door industry, we have installed a
new 540-foot prefinish line. The new line is totally environmentally safe and friendly,
using a combination of water-borne acrylics and 100% solid polyurethane, and ultraviolet
cured top coats, all of which are formaldehyde-free.
When designing this line, we researched all of the problem
areas in prefinished doors such as scratches, barber polling, inconsistency in basic
colors, large contrast, and starved finish. We have addressed these deficiencies and with
our new line, which is one of he most sophisticated and advanced prefinishing system in
use today in the wood industry, we have dramatically improved in all problem areas. This
nine-step, state-of-the-art prefinishing and coating system gives us the opportunity to
apply multiple color coats to enable us to uniform the color variation of the veneers. In
addition, the formulated ultraviolet top coat is hard beyond imagination and has the
appearance of a filled, hand-rubbed finish.
The new Premium 2000 finish, which is our standard, meets
and exceeds AWI 1500 TR-6 and OP-6 premium grade (see test results on the back page). Why
