| NEW CAST IRON FRAMES A new line of cast iron frames is now available, to make the installation job
both easier and more accurate.
Each frame is made up of only four pieces that are substantially
lighter than previous eight piece designs. In addition, the mating edges have been jointed
so that the frame can be bolted together into one level unit in just minutes.
Unlike steel angle frames, cast iron frames will not rust into
disintegration from continuous exposure to the elements, and with the strength of cast
iron, you can be assured that your frames will not be damaged or distorted at the jobsite
prior to installation.
NOTE: In cases where the frames have been shipped to the project
ahead of the tree grates, a wooden template fabricated to the exact size of the grates,
must be installed in the frames prior to pouring the concrete to assure that the final
installation will be square and level.
The seat of the frame should be cleaned prior to setting the grate.
Grate halves are to be bolted together on the underside using the bolt slots provided.
If tree guards are to be used, they may now to be attached to the
guard lugs on the underside of the grate. (See detail of tree guard lug on page 5).
THESE SUGGESTED INSTRUCTIONS APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE GRATE
CONFIGURATION.
ALL OR ANY PART OF THE PRECEDING SPECIFICATIONS AND PROCEDURES MAY
BE INCORPORATED IN YOUR PROJECT DOCUMENTS.
