Top Jamb Closers: Closer Mounting Plates
Low Ceiling Clearance --
Overhead Ooor Holder --
#1637 Drop Plate:
For use with 1602 and 1603 size closers. For use where low
ceiling clearance prevents normal top jamb mounting. This plate is used when the clearance
is between 1-3/4" and 2-5/8" (44 mm and 67 mm). Or for use where an overhead
door holder prevents normal top jamb mounting. This places the centerline of the arm
mounting screws at 2-1/4" (57 mm) from the top of the door.
Low Ceiling Clearance--
Overhead Door Holder --
#1687 Drop Plate:
For use with 1604, 1605 and 1606 size closers. For use
where low ceiling clearance prevents normal top jamb mounting. This plate is used when the
clearance is between 1-3/4" and 2-5/8" (44 mm and 67 mm). Or for use where an
overhead door holder prevents normal top jamb mounting. This places the centerline of the
arm mounting screws at 2-1/4" (57 mm) from the top of the door.

#1638 Drop Plate:
For use with 1602 and 1603 size closers. For use where an
overhead door holder prevents normal top jamb mounting. This places the centerline of the
arm mounting screws at 2-7/8" (73 mm) from the top of the door.
Overhead Door Holder --
#1688 Drop Plate:
For use with 1604, 1605 and 1606 size closers. For use
where an overhead door holder prevents normal top jamb mounting. This places the
centerline of the arm mounting screws at 2-7/8" (73 mm) from the top of the door.
Low Ceiling Clearance --
Narrow Frame Face --
#1646 Angle Bracket:
For use witn 1602 and 1603 size closers. For use where tow
ceiling clearance or a narrow frame face prevent normal top jamb I mounting. This bracket
will mount to the frame rabbet or frame soffit. It requires a frame rabbet or frame soffit
width of 2-3/16" (56 mm).

#1696 Angle Bracket:
For use with 1604, 1605 and 1606 size closers. For use
where low ceiling clearance or a narrow frame face prevent normal top jamb mounting. This
bracket will mount to the frame rabbet or frame soffit. It requires a frame rabbet or
frame soffit width of 2-3/16" (56 mm).
