6600/6700 OPERATION
Series 6600 (Switch/Scanner activated)
6600PAS Function: This door control
operates as a standard hydraulic door closer unless a wall switch or scanner is used to
activate the "assist" function, reducing the door's normally required opening
force to less than two lbf. (.5N), in most instances. Once activated the motor will
"assist" door opening for a preset period of time, adjustable from 0 to 30
seconds in 5 second increments. Any subsequent activation of a switch or scanner during
the preset time period will reset the motor's run time to the preset number of seconds.
The door will stop and hold at whatever degree of door swing it is opened to, up to the
maximum degree for which it is templated. When the preset period of time "times
out" the door is released to close under full door closer spring power.
Each unit also has an on-board three position
"Selector Mode Switch" with positions "OFF," "ON" and
"H/O."
- "OFF" position - Interrupts
"PAS" power assist feature, rendering all power functions inoperative and the
unit then functions as a standard hydraulic door closer.
- "ON" position - Unit functions as
described above.
- "H/O" position-This switch
position should only beselected when it is desired to have the door held open. In this
position, the door should be pushed to the open position, where it will be held
indefinitely.
6600POR Function: This door control
operates as a standard hydraulic door closer unless a wall switch or scanner is used to
activate its "Power Operator" function. When the "Power Operator"
function is active, the door is powered at a safe moderate speed to a preset power open
position, not to exceed 110°. Some models, properly templated, permit manual operation of
the door beyond 110°, up to a full 180°, conditions permitting. When activated, the door
travels to the full power open position where it momentarily holds the door open for an
adjustable period of time, between 5 seconds and 30 seconds in 5 second increments. Any
actuation of the wall switch or scanner while the door is in the temporary hold open
position or when it is in the closing cycle, will restore the door to the full open
position and restart the temporary hold-open time period. When the temporary hold open
period "times out" the door closes under full door closer spring power.
Each unit also has an on-board three position

unit functions as a standard hydraulic door closer.
- "ON" position - Unit functions as
described above.
- "H/O" position - Unit will power
the door to the powered open position and will hold the door open indefinitely at that
position.
Series 6700 (Automatically activated)
6700PAS Function: This door control
operates in exactly the same manner as the 6600PAS Series above except that it self
activates by means of an integral switch. With just a slight push or pull of the door in
the direction of opening [adjustable from 3/8 "to 1-1/8" (9.5 to 29mm) of door
travel] the integral switch will activate the "assist" feature. External wall
switches or scanners (although not required) may be used in addition to the integral
switch to activate the "assist" feature.
6700POR Function: This door control
operates in exactly the same manner as the 6600 POR Series above, except that it self
activates by means of an integral switch. With just a slight push or pull of the door
toward the open direction [adjustable from 3/8" to 1-1/8" (9.5 to 29mm) of door
travel] the integral switch will activate the "Power Operator" function.
External wall switches or scanners (although not required) may be used in addition to the
integral switch to activate the "Power Operator" feature.
