Introduction
The Norton® Series 7500 door closer combines
the features of the Series 7700, our finest door closer, with a spring that permits power
adjustment through a range of sizes. These closers are available in two distinct power
ranges.
Series 7500 are Normal Power Range Closers and are
adjustable in a 2 thru 6 size range. These closers can be installed and adjusted to
conform to the closing power requirements of conventionally sized closers.
Series 7500BF are Accessibility Code Closers and are
adjustable in a 1 thru 4 size range. These closers are lighter-powered than the Series
7500 to reduce the door opening resistance to manageable levels for the handicapped and
still provide door control.
The Series 7500/7500BF closers have a complete range of
separate control adjustments: sweep speed, latch speed, backcheck cushioning and backcheck
positioning. Adjustable delayed action closing is also available as an option.
Norton Series 7500 closers are ideal for the specifier and
the building owner who wish to combine the finest door control with a wide range of power
adjustment. Series 7500BF closers combine the features of the Series 7500 closer with
reduced opening resistance to comply with A. D. A. and other accessibility code
requirements.
These closers can be specified and installed with the
knowledge that they will provide smooth dependable door control. And with a minimum
inventory, the building owner has door control for any normal replacement or expansion
requirement.
Packaging Information
Series 7500 Closers are normally packed for Tri-Style
installation one to a box. Included are the closer with cover, appropriate arm and
mounting shoe for Regular Arm or Top Jamb mounting, for reveals up to 3" (76mm), and
minimum frame face of 3-1/4" (83mm). Also included are a soffit plate for Parallel
Arm mounting, a hex-key for control valve adjustment, installation instructions, and wood
screws and machine screws for mounting. Hold-Open Arm closers also include a hold-open
adjustment wrench. When ordered specifically for Top Jamb deep reveals (J or JL prefixed
closers) the closer is supplied with Top Jamb mounting shoe and a 7786 back plate. Closers
ordered with special Parallel Arm soffit plates, Parallel Rigid Arm or Narrow Profile Arm
are supplied for specific type of mounting only.
Special Fasteners
Thru-bolts and grommet nuts (TBGN) or sex-nuts (SN) are
available to order.
NOTE: Norton Series 7500BF door closers will meet the
requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act (A.D.A.) and will comply with industry
standards as established by the Builders Hardware Manufacurers Association (B.H.M.A.). |
