CLOSERPLUS

GENERAL INFORMATION

Application

Norton CloserPlus Door Controls offerthe middle ground between simple friction hold-open arms available with most closers, and the sophisticated control provided by Norton Unitrol® Door Controls. Norton CloserPlus provides the control of a full feature door closer plus a positive door stop, with or without a manual engage/disengage hold-open feature.

CloserPlus Door controls are available with a wide choice of Norton Door Closers, This includes conventional-size door closers and adjustable multi-size door closers in either ANSI size 2 thru 6 power range or A.D.A. Accessibility Code power range (low resistance sizes 1 thru 4).

Norton CloserPlus Door Controls are ideal for high traffic areas where a door stop is desired and where hold-open should be engaged on an elective basis. The Norton CloserPlus is an excellent door control for schools, auditoriums, churches and other facilities with periodic high traffic.

Features

Door Stop: Steel arm detent riveted to soffit plate, permits a door swing to within 2° of nominal template opening.

Door Holder: Optional feature. Spring loaded cup pointed plunger in the holder mechanism mates with the ball stud on the soffit plate within 2° of nominal template opening.

85°-110° Door Opening Range: CloserPlus Door Controls are supplied with templates allowing installation for door openings from 85° to 110° in 5° increments.

Hold-Open Selector: CloserPlus optional hold-open mechanism may be engaged/disengaged by a 1 /4 (90°) turn of either the thumbturn or hex-key.

Key Operated Hold-Open: Hex-key control provides a deterrent to unauthorized actuation of the hold-open mechanism. Series suffixed "K."

ANSI Grade I Door Closer: CloserPlus Door Controls are offered with Norton Door Closers meeting ANSI Standard A156.4 grade 1.

Rack and Pinion Operation: The tempered steel gears in Norton DoorClosers provide long-lasting smooth action throughout entire door opening and closing cycle.

Conventional Door Closer Sizes: Norton Door Closers Series 1600BC, Series 7700, Series 8300 and Series 8500, provide CloserPlus Door Controls in conventional sizes 2,3,4,5 and 6. Multi-Size Door Closers: CloserPlus Door Controls with multi-size door closers are available adjustable to either ANSI door closer sizes 2 thru 6 (Series 1601,7500,8301,8501 ) or Accessibility Code Range (Series 1601 BF, 7500BF, 8301 BF, 8501 BF). All Norton CloserPlus Multi-Size Door Controls have full feature door closer options listed by ANSI.

Tamper Resistant Valve Adjustment: Norton Door Closers supplied with CloserPlus Door Controls feature valves regulated by a 1/8" hex-key included with each control. The need for this hex-key discourages unauthorized manipulation.

Non-Critical Valve Adjustment: Hydraulic control of Norton Door Closers is regulated by stable, easy-to-adjust valves.
