| Norton Door Controls Sprayed Finishes
All Norton Door Controls, Arms, Brackets and Accessories
are available in the sprayed finishes illustrated. Prior to application of the finish, all
parts are prepared to assure a correct bonding of the finish to the metal surface.
Cast Components are either buffed
or heat flashed to remove all mold flashing and burrs.
Stamped Components are either
buffed or tumbled to remove all die burrs and rough edges.
Assembled components prior to finishing are immersed in a
bath of degreasing solvent to remove all dirt, grease and oil. These assembled components
are then dried in an oven before their entrance into the spray booths.
All Norton Door Controls, Arms, Brackets and Accessories
are then finished by means of electro-static spray equipment. The finish is attracted by
means of ionic action to the surface being sprayed. This method assures an even coat of
finish on all surfaces, even those not in the direct path of the sprayed finish.
All Norton Door Controls, Arms, Brackets and Accessories
are available in the Sprayed Finishes listed. Finish is to be ordered by the Norton
Symbol.

*Norton Corrosion Inhibitor Prime Coat is an especially
prepared primer to resist moist and corrosive atmospheres. Available at extra cost, the
closer can be ordered prime coated only, i.e. (SRI) or prime coated with a finish coat,
i.e. (SRI) x (BL).
For door closer installations where corrosive atmospheres
are a problem Series 1600SS or 7500SS door closers are recommended. These door closers,
arms and brackets are fabricated of either aluminum or selected grades of stainless steel
and offer the best resistance to corrosion. See Series 1600 or 7500 closer catalogs for
more information. |
