General Information and Directions for the Use of Palmer Super Set

PALMER SUPER SET™ MIRRO-MASTIC^® is white in color, has no harmful fumes, and is non-flammable. SUPER SET is a high quality superior adhesive for porous substrates that has long life resiliency, low shrinkage, and a faster set-up time. This permits trim and evenface finishing with mirrors that are mounted side by side This product should be applied as a vertical caulking bead allowing enough space between beads to permit mastic set-up. SUPER SET on porous substrates such as plywood, particle board and drywall will set in several hours. If the substrate is non-porous such as metal, ceramic tile, porcelain, or an epoxy paint, then regular PALMER MIRRO-MASTIC^® should be used.

DIRECTIONS FOR SUBSTRUCTURE, MIRROR PREPARATION AND APPLICATION

1.) Before starting SUPER SET MIRRO-MASTIC application and installation, make sure both surfaces are clean and dry.

2.) Cut the tapered spout on the cartridge so that it will dispense the desired size bead of SUPER SET.

3.) Apply vertical beads of SUPER SET so that when the mirror is pressed into place you will have approximately 60% coverage. Place the beads far enough apart to permit air circulation. Do not seal the perimeter of the mirror as all mirror installations need air circulation behind the mirror. See illustration.

4.) Support mirror at the bottom. This may be done with double-face tape tabs, permanent L hangers, "J" channel or with pins.

5.) Super Set is compatible with Category II safety backing film.

6.) If the substrate is a porous substrate that has been sealed and/or painted, then the surface should be scratched with a coarse grit sandpaper where the veltical beads of Super Set are to be applied. This reopens the substrate to allow the absorption necessary for a fast set-up. Brush or wipe these areas with a brush or cloth to remove dust before applying the Super Set.

7.) Do not apply to a wooden or porous surface that has been treated with an oily stain or similar product. Substrate must be resurfaced with new drywall or other appropriate new porous building board.

6.) For best adhesion both the mirror and the substrate should be above 40°F (4.4°C)

9.) Clean up may be accomplished immediately with a damp cloth.
