Advantages and Benefits Installation Speed-
Because it is a flexible product, PYROSCAT FP can be easily cut and formed to curved and
angled surfaces. In addition, the wrap can be fed into tight or awkward spaces where the
use of rigid products would be impractical. Adjacent blankets are overlapped, eliminating
the need to make precision field cuts. This also eliminates the need to caulk joints.
Handling Strength -
PYROSCAT FP products are made from long, spun filaments which are needle-felted into
blanket form. The products are extremely rugged and have handling strengths unmatched by
any other flexible enclosure system.
Less Space Required -
PYROSCAT FP Duct Wrap products were tested and approved for zero clearance to combustibles
under UL 1978. PYROSCAT FP Duct Wrap does not require the construction of large, rigid
enclosures used to provide additional space for air gaps and duct expansion.
Design Flexibility -
PYROSCAT FP products are approved for use in either foil laminated or unfoiled form. This
allows flexibility in choosing any combination of foiling options to meet application
requirements. In actual fire conditions, the PYROSCAT FP System produces zero smoke and
yields zero flame spread - the best on the market.
Immediate Fire Protection -
Both PYROSCAT FP Duct Wrap Blankets and Penetration Systems are ready to protect
immediately upon installation.
Lamination -
When compared to other flexible wrap systems, PYROSCAT FP has the added advantage of
having the foil directly laminated to the fiber blanket. This maintains the integrity of
the insulation even after cutting for installation.
Workplace Health and Safety
These products contain Refractory Ceramic Fiber. Care should be
taken to avoid creating excessive levels of airborne dust and fiber. If airborne fiber
concentrations are not known (or in excess of 1f/cc), the use of at least a half-face
respirator with HEPA filters is recommended. Avoid excessive skin contact with fiber
material, wear long sleeve clothing - including head and eye protection. For more
information, consult the publication "safe Workplace Guidelines for Handling
RCF." and MSDS. |
