Mc 101 TWISTED TILE FASTENING WIRE - This is the major component of the Twisted Wire Works System. During the manufacturing process two wires of the same diameter are twisted or braided tightly together with a loop placed approximately every 6" apart. On the roof some loops are placed over the #Mc 102 McAnchors to secure the Twisted Tile Fastening Wire and some loops are used for connecting the flexible #Mc 103 Tie McWires which attach to the roof tile. The vertical arms of the #Mc 102 McAnchors are spread apart and bent at right angles to firmly hold the Twisted Tile Fastening Wire in place. The anchor assembly is then sealed with plastic roof cement or an equivalent to maintain the waterproofing integrity of the underlayment. The Twisted Wire Works System may be used for roof slopes up to and including 24:12. The Wire Works, Inc. may be consulted for recommendations concerning the proper spacing of the #Mc 102 McAnchors. (Please refer to #Mc 102 McAnchors and #Mc 103 Tie McWires.) GS, C, B, SS.

Mc 102 McANCHORS - Serve as necessary mounting points to the roof deck and positive attachment for the #Mc101 Twisted Tile Fastening Wire. Manufactured universal in application so that they may be used over wood, steel, or concrete decks, including those decks utilizing insulation as well. The difference is compensated for by the means and the type of fasteners used to attach the McAnchors. Wood decks require large diameter head nails or screws. Steel decks require screws, studs and nuts, and/or welding of the McAnchors. Concrete decks require 'shooting' a hardened pin or press fitting a hardened screw or rod into the concrete. McAnchors may also be used for anchoring the #Mc104 Hook and McLoop Fasteners Wire Works System in lieu of the #Mc 105 Staples or nails. In order to prevent electrolysis, remember to use fasteners manufactured from metal with properties compatible with the McAnchors being used. The Wire Works, Inc. may be consulted for recommendations concerning the size and type of fasteners needed for the particular application. GS, B, SS.

Mc 103 tie McWIRES - The third component required to use the Twisted Wire Works System. They connect or tie off each piece of tile through the nail hole to the #Mc  101 Twisted Tile Fastening Wire. Manufactured in different lengths dependent upon the style of tile being installed. The shorter 18" Tie McWires are used with the one-piece 'S' Spanish tile where one Tie McWire ties off ONE piece of tile. The longer 31" or 28" Tie McWires are used with the two-piece traditional mission tile where one Tie McWire ties off TWO pieces of tile, namely, a top or cover tile and a pan or bottom tile. The longer Tie McWires are also used for clay flat shingle tile where one Tie McWire ties off ONE piece of tile through TWO nail holes as opposed to one. This is done to center and stabilize the tile, for in most cases neither one of the nail holes are placed in the center of the flat shingle tile produced by the tile manufacturers. Concrete roof tile may be installed in a similar manner. Tie McWires may also be used to easily attach new tiles when replacing broken tiles in a 'nailed on' application by tying off to the nail above. GS, C, B, SS.

All the Wire Works, Inc. products conform to Uniform Building Code Standards. Technical Bulletins. I.C.B.O. Evaluation Report, and laboratory test data are available upon request.
