Introduction to Overhead Glazing

REGAL MANUFACTURING COMPANY'S SOLARVIEW skylight and sloped glazing, VISTA vertical glazing and SUNROOM space enclosure products are well known for their quality and versatility.

They readily fulfill the criterion of virtually any skylight, unit skylight, sloped or vertical glazing area, sunroom, greenhouse, covered walkway, protective cover, canopy, pool enclosure, glazed structure, or other similar application where glazed or structurally framed overhead or vertical areas are required.

Although not necessarily shown in this brochure, virtually any framing member size, design; method or option; feature; glazing or cladding material; performance characteristic; and any thermal, light transmittance, shading coefficient; or other specification can be met. Our systems can be supplied to meet any combination of load conditions.

They are available in nearly any size, shape and structural system and can fit any shape of opening. The systems can be free standing or attached to other structures at virtually any point. Our products can be fabricated to meet virtually any test criterion and have been accepted by building officials operating under all major U.S. model building codes.

Most of our products are available either mechanically assembled or welded. They are normally completely assembled in our factory and then shipped in preassembled sections for rapid, easy field erection. All offer the availability of virtually any finish and/or color. Thermally improved rafters and purlins are standard on most of our products and thermally broken main frames are available. The systems can be glazed using dry, wet, or structural silicone glazing methods and combinations thereof. Our weathertight systems prevent uncontrolled water penetration at any normal working pressure and can meet any normal air infiltration standard. Our sunrooms are available in both "hard eave" and "curved eave" versions.

Our overhead glazing framing systems include the SOLARVIEW 2100 skin system; the SOLARVIEW 2200 skin and structural systems; and the SOLARVIEW 2300 through 3200 structural systems. The latter have 3" through 12" deep rafters in 1" increments, respectively.

Our typical overhead glazing framing system features include cascading condensation gutters surrounding each light of glass and the availability of low profile, high profile and concealed screw glazing caps. They are readily available in virtually any standard or custom pre-engineered configuration associated with overhead glazing applications of any kind (with or without associated vertical glazing), singly or in nearly any type of cluster.

They (or portions of them) can be opened manually or automatically for ventilation or access, using hinged or retractable concepts. They are compatible with nearly any shading or grill system, and any type of gutter, trim or subframe system.
