General Notes On Use Of Plastic Lumber
There are a few things to bear in mind when working with Plastic Lumber:
  • Allow for expansion and contraction. Plastics will expand and contract with temperature changes; allow 0.3% times the length of the board for temperature variations of 50 degrees celcius.
  • Use a carbide tipped blade for best results when cutting Plastic Lumber.
  • Plastic Lumber is not recommended for use as structural supports. For surfacing, allow for 12 inch center support when using one inch plastic lumber; 16 inch center support for one and a half inch material.
