| Drive Controls

Schindler offers three drive systems for flexibility in
meeting individual building requirements and a variety of applications. Miconic A
elevators are specifically designed to work with motor generator, solid state DC or
Alternating Current Variable Frequency (ACVF) drive systems. Each offers Schindler's high
standards for reliability and long life, and is designed to produce a smooth ride and
accurate leveling.
Miconic A drive controls are designed to perform these
functions:
l
Position vs. Time Profile Generation provides ideal acceleration and deceleration rates
and optimizes speed between stops.
l
Velocity Feedback continuously monitors actual car velocity to within ±1.5% of the
generated ideal velocity profile.
l
Position Feedback continuously monitors precise car position in the hoistway. Because car
position information is stored in battery backed-up memory, car position is protected;
after a power interruption the elevator immediately can resume travel to the intended
floor when power is restored.
l
Leveling, in conjunction with the operating controls, is designed to provide precise and
consistent stopping of the car at the selected floor. Because the Miconic A system stores
floor positions in memory, there is no need for special engineering or serving procedures
to determine precise floor locations.
Schindler Lobby Monitor
Building management can monitor elevator system operation
or communicate with the Miconic A system through color CRT monitors with easy-to-use,
menu-driven display screens. Building management can easily view the status of a single
bank of elevators as well as key composite information from multiple banks. User-friendly
menus permit easy modification of elevator operations by building personnel. The SLM
design enables strategic placement at the security desk, main lobby or other desired
locations. Creative use of color and clean layout of information make the displays easy to
scan. |
