| Miconic® VX
High-Performance Elevator Group Control with
Artificial Intelligence
Miconic VX is the most powerful and comprehensive elevator
group control system in Schindler's industry-leading Miconic® range.
Designed to meet the most demanding vertical transport
requirements, Miconic VX incorporates Schindler's exclusive Artificial Intelligence
Traffic Processor (AITPTM) in combination with our outstanding proven 'cost of service'
algorithm.
AITPTM integrates cutting-edge neural network technology to:
- constantly learn and re-learn traffic evolution within the
building through continuous observation of all events.
- predict and anticipate future landing calls
- self-perfect by matching real-time performance against
'ideal' projections made on a virtual model, and continuously adapting to the building's
individual characteristics
- allocate cars to calls in the context of predicted future
calls to achieve the greatest long-term passenger benefit.
Miconic VX incorporates fully decentralized hardware
architecture. The dispatching system employs the latest, most refined algorithms based on
Schindler's 'cost of service' strategy, which has achieved unprecedented levels of
elevator efficiency.
Designed for high-rise buildings, Miconic VX performance
also benefits intensive-traffic low-and mid-rise applications, and is outstanding in the
heavy, mixed-traffic environment of hotels.
Miconic VX Benefits
- Very low average waiting times - reduced up to 35% - giving
high overall customer satisfaction.
- Call prioritization according to psychological 'perceived
waiting time' - oldest calls are allocated increasingly higher priority.
- Massive reduction in very long waits - up to 50% -
dramatically reducing customer irritation.
- Very early recognition of traffic changes and seamless
adaptation to new situations, preventing elevator queue formation. Even under sudden major
traffic surges bunching does not occur.
- Self-adaptation to special situations within the group, such
as VIP service, car under maintenance, etc.
- System redundancy of group control via parallel algorithms.

| In this practical trial in a major corporate
building the benefit of AITP is clearly displayed. The AITP-equipped controller answers
all but 13% of calls within 20 seconds, compared with 27% without AITP. |
