Adding Intelligence to Proven Technology
Miconic VX builds on Schindler's pioneering Miconic V
control, the world's first decentralized dispatching concept and the first control system
to operate on the principle of minimizing total passenger time to destination.
The integration of AITP into Miconic VX has moved elevator
technology a quantum leap forward beyond even this advanced level of logic. It allows a
forward-thinking strategic approach to elevator group control, resulting in more educated,
rational decisions over which car will answer any given call.
Perceived Waiting Time

Perception of the time spent waiting for an elevator is
neither linear nor objective. AITP operates on the principle of 'perceived waiting time',
rationalizing and prioritizing calls on the basis of their 'age', and aggressively
targeting the elimination of irritating long waits.
Performance Gains through AITPTM
AITP improves total system performance through:
- predictive assessments of the consequences of each possible
car-to-call allocation for every individual passenger
- dynamic car distribution based on the 'forward-thinking'
strategy.
- accccurate trip projections.
'Forward thinking' means that AITP, unlike any conventional
control system, can choose to increase a short wait by a few seconds if by doing so it can
significantly reduce other potential long waiting times.
The result is a radical improvement in waiting times, more
dynamic car distribution over the entire building or zone, and genuine reductions in
average destination times for all passengers.
In comparison with other control systems, AITP has reduced
maximum waiting times by up to 50% and average waiting times by up to 35%.
The Virtual Elevator
System (VES)
VES is a powerful emulation software which constructs a
full, virtual copy of the elevator group. It constantly adapts its model to precisely
reflect all relevant building parameters.
VES supplies the Chess Player with the data it requires to
make its predictive evaluations.

for allocating cars to individual landing calls, 'pruning' out the less attractive
assignments and selecting the best 'forward-thinking' solution for all passengers. |
