NOTES:
(1) Hoist beam to be removed by others after elevator installation if minimum cab
clearance is not available.
(2) For maximum rail bracket vertical spacing, consult your local sales representative.
(3) For travel greater than 9'-6" jack hole may be required. Jack hole depth equals
travel minus pit depth minus 54". (Minimum jack hole when required is 1'-6".)
(4) Adequate steel or concrete beam or concrete walls supports are required for car (and
jack) guide rail mounting brackets based on elevator shop drawing loadings at each floor
per ASME A17.1 Code.
(5) For travel 20'-6" to 22'-5", increase pit depth to 5'-0". For travel

Machine room can be located remote from hoistway preferably at lowest landing. An area
5'-9" x 6'-6" x 7'-9" high is usually adequate for average installation.
Larger area is required when two or more power units are used for two elevators with
common machine room, etc. |
