NOTES:
(i) All of the above dimensions are based on applying 8'-0" high cabs, 7'-0" high doors, and our standard platforms and equipment.

(ii) Elevators with counterweight safety
a. Add 5" to dimension "C" for applications with side counterweight.

b. Add 5" to dimension "D" for applications with rear counterweight.

c. Either pit "P" or overhead dimension "OH" may increase when counterweight safety is used. Consult Schindler for actual requirements.

(iii) Elevators with Front and Rear Openings
a. Add 1'-0" to dimension "C" for General Purpose elevator.

b. Add 1/2" to dimension "D" for Hospital/Service elevator.

(iv) Elevators with Flush Transoms
a. Add an additional 1
1/2" to dimension "D"

(v) Elevators with Seismic Provisions
a. For General Purpose elevators increase dimension "C" by 4" for less than 4000 lbs, 6" for 4000 lbs or greater and dimension "D" by 3".

b. For Hospital / Service Elevators increase "C" by 3".

(vi) Hoistaway  Tolerances
a. Clear, plumb hoistway, with variations not to exceed 1" at any point in dimensions "C" and "D" .

(vii) Single car shown. For multi-car banks 4" steel divider beams by others required between individual hoistways.

(viii) Pit Depth and Overheads.
a. For every inch of cab height exceeding 8'-0" clear, add an inch to the overhead.

b. All pit depths are based on a maximum 1/8" platform recess, whisperflex compensation, and full stroke buffers  for speeds up to and including700 fpm. At 1000 fpm and above, pit overhead dimensions are based on reduced stroke buffers and rope compensation.

c. Dimension "OH" (Total Overhead) has been based on 4" machine room slab and recommended machine beam sizes, with machine beams mounted directly below MR slab.

(ix) ADA inside Cab Dimensions
a. Hoistway widths dimension "C" and depths dimension "D" are based on meeting ADA inside cab with dimensions "CA" and depth dimensions "CB" requirements with 1/2" decorative panels applied to a steel shell. Thicker decorative panels will require a wider hoistway.
