| Entrance Details

Hoistway entrances are complete installations and are
available in a number of frame designs and systems of door openings. Doors and frames are
manufacti\ured to provide assurance that your elevator entrances and their tie-ins to
adjacent wall structures will meet the rigid requirements of the ASME A17.1 Elevator
Safety Code and applicable Building Code.
To preserve the integrity of the interface of elevator
entrances with drywall enclosures, the indicated plan view configuration should be
followed. It has been fire tested by U.L. in accordance with ASME A17.1 Code plus
applicable Model Building Code, and ASTM E-152 procedures, complying with the fire
endurance demands of the test procedure.
Note:
Entrance walls and finished floors are not to be
constructed until after door frames and sills are in place.
Where front walls are of reinforced concrete, the concrete
openings must be 12" wider than he outside trim of door frames and 6" higher
than head trim. |
