Schwank infra-red pioneer and world leader
Schwank is a global company dedicated to a single pursuit for over 100 years: the development and
design of heating equipment.
Over 60 years ago, Schwank pioneered infra-red heating technology which was based on the (then)
revolutionary concept that it was more efficient to heat people, floors, machinery, equipment, vehicles
and objects rather than air.
This new departure eliminated the heat losses of air-heating while at the same time, retaining an
element of comfort in the air itself. The heat stored by solid surfaces keeps the ambient air warm by
radiation and convection.
An example of Schwank's technological leadership is the development over 60 years ago, of the
special Schwank Ceramic Heating Tile for high-intensity, infra-red heating.
Schwank Ceramic Tile panels burn at a steady temperature of 1650°F The result is infra-red wave
lengths which are most effectively absorbed by most surfaces.
Following its initial development, continuous improvements have been made in the Ceramic Heating
Tile. The latest technological improvement has increased the radiation area 50% and improved
combustion efficiency still more. This new generation "effect tile" as it is called, burns at a steady
temperature, using "'cold state" combustion, thus nearly eliminating emissions.
Schwank's industry leadership continues today. Recently, Schwank laboratories succeeded in
incorporating the highly successful Ceramic Tile into the operational heart of the new burner for the
STSP Low-Intensity, Tube Heaters featured in this brochure. |
