The One Hour Fire Wall for Multifamily Units
Shakertown panels qualify for a one-hour fire resistance wall assembly. Simply nail them over 1/2"
or 5/8" Gypsum Sheathing Board, depending on stud spacing. They may be used instead of 3/4"
drop siding or 3/8" plywood. The natural, untreated siding materials in all sizes also meet the
requirements of ASTM E-84 for Class B Flame Spread Rating. See Fire Resistant Construction
