The fixtures in this section are intended to be surface mounted on
the ceiling only. A broad range of shapes and styles are offered, many as companions to
pendant type fixtures. Many are available in more than one size.
FINISHES
Shaper offers both plated and solid base metal finishes, depending on the fixture. Painted
finishes are available for all designs. The availability of special finishes varies with
the fixture design. Call your Rep or the factory for finishes not shown.
LAMPING
Most fixtures are offered with lamping options. High lumen compact fluorescent lamp
options are offered with integral ballasts and mount to a standard J-box. They do not
require a special recessed “back-box” and are engineered to run at temperatures
below the ballast manufacturer’s recommended maximum to assure long life.
MODIFICATIONS
Frequently job conditions require modifications to a fixture including a different size to
match the scale of a space or changes in lamping to meet performance needs. With our
resource of skilled craftspeople we offer the designer the flexibility to tailor our
standard fixtures to meet special design criteria. Many application photos throughout the
catalog show “modified” fixtures which are denoted by an “M” in front
of the catalog number, i.e., M410. Call your Rep or the factory to discuss the unique
requirements of your project.
EMERGENCY BATTERY PACKS
To meet emergency lighting requirements selected fixtures are available with modifications
to accept emergency battery packs. Battery packs are normally supplied by others. Due to
size limitations and UL requirements, not all fixtures are available with this option. In
most cases fixture dimensions will change. Fixtures without battery packs may be modified
to look the same as battery pack fixtures. Call your Rep or the factory for assistance.
