This section offers the specifier a broad range of shapes and
styles, providing alternatives for all budgets. Our most economical designs can be found
in the Starter House section.
MATERIALS
Most of our pendants utilize white acrylic bowls. The high quality acrylic we use is
valued for its light weight, luminosity, resistance to breakage and availability in large
sizes. The standard “opal white” finish has the sheen of opal white glass. We
offer both an optional sanded finish similar to satin glass or a hand painted faux
alabaster. We also offer “glass-green” acrylic by special order. Note that most
our bowls have a distinctive “vertical shoulder” at the top edge.
FINISHES
Shaper offers both plated and solid base metal finishes, depending on the fixture. Painted
finishes are available for all designs. The availability of special finishes varies with
the fixture design. Call your Rep or the factory for finishes not shown.
SINGLE STEM PENDANTS
All single stem fixtures are supplied with our exclusive seismic swivel assembly and
integral safety cable. Our fixtures comply with California’s Title 24 Code regulating
schools and hospitals. This design adds a substantial measure of safety to fixtures in any
area of the country where there are seismic considerations. It also gives design
flexibility to applications with sloped ceilings. It will accomodate slopes up to 20° or
4.5 in 12.
TRIPLE STEM FIXTURES
Our triple stem fixtures (and fixtures using the triple stem option) swivel 25º from the
vertical, have built-in resistance to torqueing and include a safety cable. For sloped
ceilings triple stem fixtures require a “Sloped Ceiling Adaptor” shown below.
For over-all suspension lengths greater than 5’ a “collector”, as shown
below, is required. The collector can also be used where a 45º swivel is desired.

MODIFICATIONS
With our resource of skilled craftspeople we can offer the designer the flexibility to
tailor our standard fixtures to meet special design criteria. Many application photos
throughout the catalog show “modified” fixtures which are denoted by an
“M” in front of the catalog number, i.e. M494. Call your Rep or the factory to
discuss the unique requirements of your project.
OVERALL HANG HEIGHT
All pendants come with a standard suspension of 24”. In some cases there will be a
minimum suspension to allow for installation and relamping. You must specify the overall
hang height even if it is 24”. Do not specify a "Stem Length". There is an
additional incremental charge for suspension lengths greater than 24”.
