In our business, there's too much at stake for anything
less than a partnership. Or the worthiest partner.
There are 1,001 fire codes and regulations
to meet. Security personnel to train. Crucial and complex decisions to make.
People's lives, property and future depend on the right
decisions. So we do all we can to build relationships with our customers that last.
Hopefully, for as long as their buildings
are standing. That's no exaggeration. That's the kind of company we are.
Imagine a square that can accommodate five million people.
(Tian'anmen Square.) Now, imagine a building that flanks it along the side where the sun
sets. (The Great Hall of the People.) Imagine the 50 rooms of this building, each large
enough to echo, each representing provinces or minorities that make up the silken tapestry
that is China. The Great Hall today is still considered one Beijing's architectural feats.
History has hinged on meetings of state that take place there. And its collection of art
and furnishings would fill a few good-sized museums. A 512-point fire detection system was
installed in The Great Hall. Specifically, the Simplex 4100™ system. Chinese
government officials don't like to tempt fate. So when they needed an upgrade, back they
went to Simplex. Now The Great Hall is protected by a 1,000-point console system. Which
may not change history. But, as you can well imagine, it certainly helps preserve it.
