Limitations

Special Fittings and Fitting Locations on Receivers

Standard Refrigeration Company will furnish vessels with additional refrigerant fitting or change fitting sizes and locations, to suit your applications.

General requirements

The edge of any fitting should be at least one inch from an adjacent fitting or weld. Distances from the end of the receiver shell to the weld centerline are tabulated in table.

Only smaller fittings can be placed on the edge of the dome between the weld and the formed end. (The formed curve starts at G x OD from the end.)

  • The range of fitting sizes and types readily available are:
  • FPT J" thru 4"
  • IDS K" thru 4J" (steel)
  • Rotalock Spuds I"-16, 1"-14, 1G"-12, 1I"-12
  • Liquid level indicator or alarm switch flanges
  • Pipe or OD tube projections and special flanges can be installed
  • depending upon sizes and availability. Consult factory
  • Bulls-eyes can be supplied for installation in FPT connections

Standard engineering notations should be followed:
“P” for refrigerant inlet to vessel
“Q” for refrigerant outlet from vessel
“S” for safety connection
Other fittings are best described by their size and functions as “G FPT Purge fitting”.
