Liquid granite?
Stonecoat announces a new line of acrylic based granite coatings. Using
quarried granite Stonecoat combines the carefully graded and color selected
stone with acrylics to produce a substitute for slab granite.
Stonecoat president Tom McGinley notes that, "Stonecoat was developed
because designers asked us for something more practical than slabs. Slab
granite is just too expensive, too hard to work with and too design restrictive.
An unexpected benefit of our development was a greater consistency in color
and texture than could ever be achieved with slab stone. We can make any
number of natural colors and by controlling the mixture of the color bearing
granite and white granite, produce virtually any variation."

Stonecoat is available in 39 stock colors and three textures. It is easily applied
with low tech hopper spray guns and is designed for use on building exteriors
or anywhere a designer needs the aesthetics of stone. Long popular in other
countries, the new American Stonecoat is now environmentally formulated
specially for the needs of US and Canadian design professionals. As one
architect put it, "Now design in stone is limited only by your dreams." Spray
applied at about one-eighth the cost of slab granite, Stonecoat is popular for
the lower floors of high rise buildings, exterior and Interior architectural
features, columns and all sorts of garden and statuary applications.
