Plumbing

For units with an automatic ice maker, rough in the water supply line. Connect a 1/4-inch OD copper line to the house supply being sure to use an easily accessible shut-off valve between the supply and the refrigerator.

Do not use "self-piercing" valves. A saddle valve (part #4- 20-088-0) is available from your distributor/dealer. A line filter is required when the water conditions have a high sediment content.

The water line should be routed up through the floor within 1/2" from the back wall and no higher than 3" off the floor. If you have to come through the wall, make sure the water line is no more than 3" from the floor.

Regardless of the routing, allow two to three feet of excess copper tubing to remain outside the wall or floor for easy connection to the unit. Refer to illustration 1 and the pre-installation Specifications chart on page 9 for exact specifications

 

Checking The Results

The 600 Series Installation Guide packed with the appliance will give you step-by-step procedures for making sure the unit is installed properly.

The following is a checklist of some of the important items you’ll want to review before your installation is complete. Following these guidelines will assure a beautiful and safe installation, and a satisfied client.

  • Has blocking been completed?
  • Is the unit leveled properly on a solid floor?
  • Is the toe plate installed?
  • Have electrical and plumbing hookups been made in accordance with the 600 Series Installation Guide?
  • Are panels installed correctly?
  • Are the doors adjusted?
  • Does your customer understand the unit’s operation?
  • Have you given your customer the warranty package?

When you’ve completed this final check, you can be assured that your client will enjoy the very best in home refrigeration for years to come.
