TEMPEST aluminum windows are made differently than most other aluminum windows. Instead of one single extrusion, frame members are
two separate extrusions with a rigid vinyl insulating connector in between to act as a thermal barrier. The inside and outside parts of the
frame section are painted or anodized separately from one another to allow mixing and matching of finish colors and methods.
TEMPEST stocks aluminum extrusions in four exterior and four interior colors to provide a variety of combinations at no additional cost.
TEMPEST insulating connectors are more thermally and structurally efficient when compared to European "strip" thermal barriers. They fully
enclose one or more air spaces. These insulating connectors do not have the shrinking and cracking problems associated with some of the
poured-in-place solid polyurethane type thermal barrier systems.
TEMPEST window designs have more aluminum by weight than other windows of comparable size. Their superior hardware and more
effective weatherstripping make them suitable for high rise as well as detached dwelling applications.
TEMPEST windows have a quiet elegance. Their minimal frame width and simple lines allow them to blend in with traditional, contemporary
or landmarked surroundings.
TEMPEST windows are fabricated with great care and precision. Tempest manufactures the only double hung window which has sash
corners that are both punch-processed and milled to assure a proper, snug fit.
