TEMPEST Double Hung windows are specially designed and fabricated to provide the highest quality results for both retrofit and new
construction applications.
TEMPEST Double Hung windows' Architectural Grade rating is your best assurance of many years of trouble-free service. Not only have
these windows met initial air and water infiltration resistance standards more stringent than for Heavy Commercial rated windows but they
have also passed a second equally rigorous infiltration test after undergoing extensive use and misuse testing.
TEMPEST Double Hung windows have a proprietary key activated tilt-latch system to control access to the tilt-in-for-cleaning feature. Both
the top and bottom sash tilt into the room for easy cleaning. The window sash can not be tilted in without the key and the key can not be
removed in the unlocked position.
TEMPEST Double Hung windows with sash weights over 35 lbs. use Caldwell's "Ultra Lift™" balance system. As a result glass weight is
rarely a limiting factor and even very large windows are easily operated.
TEMPEST muntin grids replicate the look of multi-paned windows and are available in a number of combinations to accommodate the most
rigorous thermal, acoustic and aesthetic requirements. Our unique "between-the-glass" vinyl grid compliments our two-color factory finish
and provides a realistic divided light appearance for the interior as well as the exterior.
TEMPEST's versatile design allows a multi-section window with a unified master frame to provide mullion and transom sightlines that are
