We've been setting the standard.
In 1917, TOTO first began manufacturing vitreous
china sanitaryware. Since then we have continued to expand our product
line to meet the demands of continual lifestyle changes. Today we design
and manufacture complete lines of innovative sensor flush valves, manual
flush valves, automatic faucets, toilets, lavatories, and urinals. TOTO
is the largest plumbing manufacturer in the world with over $4 billion
in sales and over 80 affiliated manufacturing facilities worldwide. Our
newest, advanced pressure casting vitreous china plant in Atlanta produces
one piece toilets that are available throughout the country. As with many
of our manufacturing facilities, TOTO Industries Morrow utilizes advanced
robotics for precise, predictable construction.
For instance, we were one of the first companies to come up
with a 6 liter, 1.6gallons per flush toilet in answer to water conservation needs. We also
designed the first battery powered flush valve and faucet that eliminated the need to
completely remodel restrooms when upgrading to sensor flush valves and faucets.
Testing, testing, testing
Our R&D staff consists of over 1,500 engineers
with years of experience working strictly with the design, redesign, testing
and retesting of existing and new products. This enables us to continually
offer products to meet any restroom need.
TOTO has a reputation for providing quality,
maintenance-free products. Our consistent product dependability doesn't
happen by chance. While our competitors strive to meet the CSA and ANSI/ASME
standards, we don't stop there. We've set up our own methods of testing
that are more realistic
Take, for example, the ANSI/ASME tests, which were
originally designed for 3.5 Gpf toilets. All toilet manufacturers must pass these tests,
but then why do we still hear about problems in the field? One, because these tests were
not designed to measure 1.6 Gpf toilets, and two, these tests are minimum standards tests,
only.
This is why we subject our toilets to rigorous tests with
"realistic" simulated waste combined with toilet paper.

Most brand name toilets are only put
through the typical ANSI/ASME tests which include flushing liquid dye, granules, and
plastic balls. That's just the beginning of TOTO's testing. |
