Optimized Coils

Flexibility characterizes the Modular Climate Changer’s broad coil offering, too. The variety of types, sizes, arrangements and materials available lets you select a coil optimized for the application’s pressure drop and capacity requirements. Options include:

  • one to 12-row, ½- or 5 /8 -inch OD chilled water coils

  • one or two-row, ½- or 5 /8 -inch OD hot water coils

  • two to eight-row, ½- or 5 /8 -inch OD refrigerant coils

  • one-row, one-inch OD, distributing-type steam coils

  • infinitely variable fin spacing (IVS)

  • stainless steel coil casing

  • copper fins

  • red brass tubes Standard and high efficiency fin surfaces:

  • Delta-Flo™ , Prima-Flo® and Sigma-Flo®

  • baked phenolic coatings

  • header drain and vent connections

  • fully drainable coils

  • half, full and dual serpentine-circuited water coils

  • standard, intertwined and split-face- circuited refrigerant coils

All standard heating and cooling coils are engineered and manufactured at Trane’s air handling systems manufacturing facility. Cataloged coil performance is certified in accordance with ARI Standard 410.

The Modular Climate Changer is easily the industry’s most flexible, cataloged central station air handler. Still, some installations demand special air handling requirements that simply can’t be met with the unit features described in this catalog. Recognizing this, Trane assembled a team of experienced air-handling system engineers who design customized solutions for jobs with unique application needs. Among the tailor- made systems developed to date are designs that incorporate:

Total Energy Wheel

Humidification Module

  • total energy-recovery wheels

  • fixed-plate heat exchangers

  • integral face-and-bypass steam heating coils

  • alternative fan configurations

  • humidifiers

  • custom-length modules

  • Stacked Dehumidification Units (SDU)

  • HEPA (high-efficiency particulate arrestance) filters

  • alternate damper types and locations

  • gas-phase filtration (activated carbon filters)

  • special purpose motors

  • externally-mounted grease fittings

  • electric and gas heat options

  • triple-deck multizone arrangements

  • heat recovery coils (outside the scope of ARI Standard 410’s certification)
