POWER SUPPLIES PS6

Safety Through Technology

Translite's 300 watt PS6 power supply is specifically designed for low voltage lighting applications. The PS6 includes a toroidal transformer and Translite s patented AFD™ Safety Circuit.

Features

Decorative Housing: The PS6 has a vented housing. Standard finish is painted white. The housing is available in variety of anodized, painted or plated finishes.

AFD™ Safety Circuit - The AFD™ (auto-fusing device) was developed by Translite to safely control the high current(amperage) associated with open(uninsulated) conductor low voltage circuits. The AFD™ is a microprocessor that automatically computes the electrical load on the power supply and sets the load limit accordingly. In the event of a short or overload, the AFD™ instantaneously shuts down the lighting system.

Easy Reset - An important feature of the power supplies is that they are simply reset by turning the wall switch or dimmer off and then on again. In the event of a system shutdown, there is no need to access the power supply (often remotely located) to reset a breaker or to replace a fuse.

Dimmable - The PS6 is fully dimmable. Any dimmer used with the PS6 must be a "low voltage dimmer" rated for use with an inductive load(magnetic transformer) and must provide a minimum of 30 volts at its lowest setting (most dimmers do).

Direct Feed: Power Feed Cable may be fed through holes in the cover of the PS6.

Choke Option: An optional choke(debuzzing coil) is available for use with Translite's PS6 power supply. The choke virtually eliminates the buzzing sound caused when dimmers are used with the system. Recommended for residential applications. The choke is factory installed within the existing power supply housing.

Wiring: The PS6 is designed for hardwiring. It has several 7/8" (22mm) diameter conduit knockouts in the chassis. Because of the initial surge in current during turn on, no more than three PS6 power supplies
