STEPS
& ACCESSORIES |
Starting Steps
Used as a foundation for volutes and turnouts, starting steps feature rounded ends and
increased width.
Solid
Treads & Risers
Treads are the horizontal boards upon which people walk. Mitered return treads are used in
open stair systems where a finished edge of the step is exposed. Risers are the vertical
boards that cover the space between steps. If treads or risers are fully exposed, they
should be made of solid oak.
False
Treads & Risers
False treads, wall caps, and false risers make it possible to have the solid look of oak
stairs at a fraction of the cost. False treads are available in right- or left-hand
versions and include a miter return for the open side of the stairway.
