The EC Deck Clip™ & Blind Nailing System
The EC Deck Clip™ is an innovative stainless steel fastening system that eliminates having exposed nails or screws on the deck surface (see
Diagram D1). This system for fastening is aesthetically pleasing and will allow for thermal expansion and contraction in the most severe
climates.
Joist Spacing
The Carefree Deck System™ is designed for standard joist spacing of 16" on center with minimum deflection; however, joist spacing of 12"
on center has proven to be a more economical application due to smaller joist sizing. Engineering and architecture specifications should
always comply with local codes for commercial and engineering applications, See Diagram D3.
Deck Installation
If you are not starting against a building wall, you can use the clips as starter clips on the first board by fastening them to the joist prior to
placing the 1st deck board, then fasten the edge of the board. See Diagram D2.
