Faster Warm-Up/Re-Strike

Our exclusive Uni-Form® formed body arc tube provides warm-up and re-strike in 60% less time. A high voltage ignitor initiates the break-down of the gases to start the arc, a much more effective method for starting metal halide lamps than starter electrode technology. In addition, the reduction in arc chamber quartz mass and elimination of large heat radiating pinch fins result in significantly reduced thermal losses. Combining ignitor starting and improved arc tube design with higher gas fill pressures produces faster initial warm up and shorter hot restrike time.

Color Uniformity

Color variations from lamp to lamp occur because of differences in temperature in the arc tube. Uniform temperature has been achieved with the special new Uni-Form® arc chamber design using Venture's® unique quartz sculpting process. The uniform wall thickness and constancy of shape combined with the consistent high quality of lamp components and additives provide identical thermal characteristics in every arc tube chamber. This uniform temperatures profile ensures minimal variation in lamp color.

Cold Starting

The external ignitor and the Uni-Form® formed body arc tube combine to improve starting in colder conditions, down to -40°C. Ignitor-based starting allows the removal of the bi-metal starter electrode, improving the reliability of the lamp. Instead, the high voltage pulse ignitor provides quicker breakdown of gases and permits higher fill pressures. This results in more reliable starting, even for cold weather applications such as cold storage or freeze warehouses.

Saves Energy

When compared to standard metal halide technology, Uni-Form® pulse start offers up to 50% improvement in system lumens per watt. Consequently, the Uni-Form® pulse start systems deliver more light with lower energy usage. In addition, the use of Uni-Form® controlled current reactor ballasts reduces energy losses by more than 50%. For example, the 320 watt Uni-Form® pulse start system is 25% more efficient than a standard 400 watt system. An 80 watt savings in the lamp and a 35 watt savings from the reactor ballast contribute to a total system energy saving of 115 watts. Given the savings potential, the Uni-Form® pulse start system is the logical choice for energy-conscious users.
