JOB SUMMARY
The Foxwoods Casino expansion included several Vistawall systems,
as well as Naturalite's domed skylights and barrel vaults. The Vistawall
products utilized include the CW-250 curtainwall, ICW-250 window
system with operable units, various storefront systems and over
160 Series 375 Medium Stile entrances with custom hardware.
All of Vistawall's material was supplied with a
Kynar¨ 500 based coating, the majority being a custom "casino
teal" color.
Stringent structural criteria had to be met on the
job, where all systems were required to have design windloads reaching
over 50 psf at the building's corner zones. A unique aspect of the
project was the preassembly of many of the window units at Vistawall's
facility prior to shipping to the jobsite. This allowed Massey's
Plate Glass to have a very quick installation on site.
Vistawall also performed custom grille work on the
parking garages, a custom elevator enclosure, along with many circular
and triangular window units that were preassembled. The units were
so large that they required permits to be transported from Rhode
Island to Connecticut.
Vistawall has been involved with the Foxwoods Casino
project for over four years and continues to supply glazing systems
for the casino's improvements.
