All dimensions are based on 18" from table edge to
chair back to allow for seated person.
To estimate the seating capacity of an area`s total floor space, use Square Feet Per
Person figures. These figures are based on the total square feet occupied by the table,
chairs and aisle divided by the seating capacity of the table.
Spacious dining = 14 sq. ft. per person
Cafeteria or Restaurant dining = 12 sq. ft. per person
Banquet, Institutional, Fast Food Dining or close seating = 10 sq. ft. per person
Aisle allowance varies according to desired table spacing.
Chair back to chair back = 18" to 24"
aisle. 6" min. for access only
Table corner to table corner = 24" to 36" aisle. 12" min. for access
only
Tables side by side = 15" to 18" aisle. 3' to 6" for no access
Service aisle = 28" to 36"
