UFP UNIVERSAL FOUNDATION
PLATE
|
The UFP10 Retrofit Foundation Plate cuts installation time in half.
Designed to connect when the mudsill is offset from the foundation up to 2-1/2" or
extended beyond the foundation up to 1/2".
The UFP may be used in place of the FA, HFA and FAP connectors.
MATERIAL: 14 gauge
FINISH: Galvanized
INSTALLATION:
- Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes.
- Loads are based on Simpson's SDSX3 screw's allowable shear values,
which are supplied with the UFP10.
- Alternate lag screws will not achieve published loads.
- See Epoxy-Tie Anchoring Systems and RFB Retrofit Bolt for
tested, load-rated epoxies and retrofit bolts.

1. Allowable loads have been increased 33% for earthquake or wind
loading, with no further increase allowed. Reduce where other load durations apply.
2. The retrofit bolt RFB#4X7 with Epoxy-Tie embedded 4-1/4" or
equivalent 1/2" x 4-1/4" mechanical anchor bolt embedded 2-1/4" may be used
for the anchoring system.
3. Each anchor bolt requires a standard cut washer.

INSTALLATION:
- Use all specified fasteners. See General Notes.
- Bolt holes shall be a minimum of 1/32" to a maximum of
1/16" larger than the bolt diameter (per the 1997 NDS, section 8.1.2.1.).
- Check the rebar spacing requirements on all installations.
OPTIONS:
- Sawn timber and other sizes may be ordered by specifying special
dimensions; use the letter designations shown on the illustrations.

1. 1.Allowable masonry bearing loads must be reduced where limited
by the wood bearing on the plate.
2. Allowable concrete bearing loads are limited by the allowable
bearing of the wood at 450 psi. Loads must be adjusted for other widths not shown.
3. The GLBT5 has a WT4x9 structural tee; the GLBT6 has a WT4x12
structural tee.
4.Allowable horizontal bolt loads include a 33% and 60% increase for
earthquake or wind loading; reduce if masonry or concrete is limiting. |
