RP6 RETRO PLATE
ANCHORS

The RP6 heavy steel plate fits on the outside of masonry buildings, helps tie the walls to the roof or floor structure with a 3/4" diameter bolt.

MATERIAL: 3/8" steel

FINISH: Simpson gray paint. Optional hot-dip galvanized finish; see Corrosion-Resistance, page 6, and specify HDG.

INSTALLATION: Use a 3/4" diameter rod.

MKP™ MONKEY PAW™ ANCHOR BOLT HOLDERS

Secure the SSTB to the formboard before the concrete pour. Use the MKP5/8 to install the SSTB16, 20 and 24; MKP7/8 a for SSTB28, SSTB34 and SSTB36; other sizes fit commonly-used anchor bolts.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

  • The MKP may be used several times.
  • Stabilizes bolt by providing three-point support against lateral concrete pressure.
  • Alignment arrows (left or right) match the SSTB bolt head arrow.
  • Stamped for 2x4 or 2x6 mudsill placement.
  • No nut required to hold bolt in place.
  • When removed, the MKP cleans the bolt thread of concrete.

MATERIAL: MKP1/2, MKP5/8 a MKP3/4, -- 16 gauge;  all others -- 14 gauge

FINISH: Galvanized

INSTALLATION:

  • Attach SSTB to the MKP. Line up MKP arrows with SSTB bolt head arrows for diagonal installation at approximately 45° from the wall.
  • Align bottom tab of MKP with SSTB embedment line.
  • Use 2x4 or 2x6 notches to match the mudsill size.
  • Attach the MKP to the formboard using duplex nails.
  • After concrete pour, allow concrete to cure. Remove the MKP by squeezing the top and bottom together, lifting and twisting off.

J/JP FLOOR BEAM LEVELERS

Jack piers and standard floor beam levelers offer unique leveling simplicity during and after construction. JPs allow two simple methods of installation for economy and design versatility. Both models are adjustable; see table.

MATERIAL: 12 gauge plates, 3/4" threaded rod, 1-1/16" O.D. steel pipe

FINISH: None. Connectors installed in damp areas, or corrosive environments that are not exposed to rain or periodic washing, will deteriorate at a faster rate. Corrosion-resistant finishes and maintenance can improve the connector's service life.

INSTALLATION:

  • Use all specified fasteners. See General Notes.
  • Holes are provided for installation with 10dx1-1/2" nails.
  • Do not use J/JPs for dynamic jacking of structures, such as houses.

CODES: BOCA, ICBO, SBCCI NER-413. City of LA RR 25119.

Model No. Dimensions Allowable Bearing Loads (100)
H (Min-Max) Threaded Rod Length
JP44 2-4 4-3/4 44401
J57 5-7 4 4380
J813 8-13 8 4380

  1. Consider allowable loads for 4x4 post.
  2. Loads may not be increased for short-term loading.
