CC ALTERNATE OPTIONS
|
There are cost-effective alternatives for replacing column
caps by using a combination of connectors. Here are some examples. For more information,
request Form T-CC.

LCC LALLY COLUMN CAPS

Ten LCC sizes for multiple ply solid sawn and composite
wood members! Lally column caps provide adequate bearing length for larger girder
reactions. This connector makes installation easy.
MATERIAL: 12 gauge
FINISH: Simpson gray paint
INSTALLATION:
- Use all specified fasteners. See General Notes.
- Fit the lally column cap over the lally column and attach to
the girder.

- Loads may not be increased for short-term loading.
- Allowable loads are determined using the lowest of the
bearing loads using Fc equal to 335 psi for SPF, 625 psi for DF and 650 for LVL/PSL, or
the 8' lally column capacity.
- Loads are for a continuous beam.
- Spliced conditions must be detailed by the specifier
to transfer tension loads between spliced members by means other than the lally column.
The splice condition load is 6750 lbs per beam side and the lally cap must be evenly
loaded.
- To achieve lateral loads, LCC pipe must be welded to the
column with an 1/8" fillet weld around the entire pipe.
