Design Capacities
Vertical Load:
5700 PLF (Cannot be increased for duration of load.)
Horizontal wind or
seismic shear transfer: 220 PLF (Includes increase for duration of load.)
Side bolt
connections (deck attachment): 1/2" diameter lag bolts with minimum length of
4" (full penetration in E-Z Rim®) or 1/2" diameter through bolts with washers and nuts: 350
Ibs. per bolt (for normal load duration)
For side nail
connections into wide face of E-Z Rim® Board use design values per 1991 NDS spruce-pine-fir (G=.42)
Connections: (box or common nails)
