  1. Adjustments to allowable design stresses, except for E and Fc l are permitted in accordance with the applicable code.
  2. Flexural Stress must be modified by the depth effect formula: Cd=12/d 1/7.5 d=depth, 3-1/2" minimum

4 Not Recommended Should only be used when loads are applied to both sides of the members.

1. Table values are based on 1 3/4" thick StrucLam. Verify the adequacy of the beam to support imposed loads.

2. Minimum connection requirements. Use for top loaded beams.

11- 7/8" deep (Maximum).

Minimum of 2 rows 16d common at 12" o/c.

14", 16" & 18" deep.

Minimum of 3 rows 16d common at 12" o/c.

3. Values listed are for 100% load duration. Increase 15% for snow loaded roof conditions; 25% for non-snow roof conditions.

4. For 3 piece members, nailing specified is for both sides.

5. Bolt holes should be drilled 1/32" (min.) to 1/16" (max.) larger than the bolt diameter. Locate bolts a minimum 2" from the top and bottom of the beam.

6. Table values assume uniform loads to multiple members. Concentrated loads from one side require additional considerations. Contact Willamette Industries Technical Support.
