SUN-MATE Greenhouses

SUN-MATE structured sheet plastic panels on aluminum
support frame are convertible to one, two, or three tempered glass skins as a future
option.

This all aluminum, 30' wide, rigid frame, SUN-MATE tempered
glass, double glazed, lean-to serves the dual purpose of framing the main entrance to this
major regional vocational school and functioning as the school's vocational agriculture
greenhouse.

The architectural problem of refurbishing archtype greenhouses, whose plastic panel covering has deteriorated and failed, has been solved by the SUN-MATE tempered glass re-skin system for arch greenhouses. The permanency of the tempered glass system coupled with adaptability to virtually any radius, has solved the problem permanently. One or two-layered tempered glass arch re-skins are available.

This SUN-MATE tempered glass, triple glazed, re-skin system
is in use at the Michigan State University, W.K. Kellogg Biological Station. The SUN-MATE
re-skin system was installed on a set of structurally sound, deteriorated, antiquated,
1920's steel frame greenhouses. The refurbished structure are now used for major basic
research at the Kellogg Station.

SUN-MATE tempered glass, double glazed, standard trussed
greenhouses are at the U.S.D.A., U.S. Forest Service, Atmospheric Deposition Testing
Center (acid rain). Note the SUN-MATE glazing system is so tight and infiltration free
that it is being used for closed loop air conditioning to prevent dispersion of pollutants
and testing bias.

The Winandy SUN-MATE greenhouse system is easily customized
to meet the diverse architectural needs that occur. This specialized "L"-shaped
lean-to fulfills the greenhouse requirements of the high school to which it is attached.
It also serves as the roof and side enclosure for a stairwell that is exterior to the main
building and faces the main entrance of the school. The greenhouse is currently single
glazed, but can be double glazed in the future.

U.S.D.A. Northern Great Plains Research Station, Mandan,
ND, has SUN-MATE double tempered glass as a re-skin of other manufacturer's 8 year old
aluminum and glass greenhouse allowing for more energy efficient productivity and
near-zero maintenance.
