WIRSBO's ProPEX Fitting System
The ProPEX® fitting system, developed specifically for
use with AQUAPEX® tubing, is a revolutionary advancement in fitting
technology.
The patented ProPEX® technology puts to work the shape
memory of AQUAPEX® tubing. The result is a simple, inexpensive and incredibly
strong connection. In fact, stretch tests demonstrate that the ProPEX®
connection is stronger than the tube itself.
The shape memory of AQUAPEX® tubing reforms the expanded
tubing to its original shape. The AQUAPEX® tubing and a PEX ring compress over
the ProPEX® fitting for the most reliable connection available.
The ProPEX® connection is permanent, leak proof and,
unlike some fitting systems, actually gets stronger over time.
ProPEX® fittings have only two parts and they are priced
right. ProPEX® installation is quick and easy. Plumbing professionals can see
immediately that they have made a successful connection.
ProPEX® fittings are listed to ASTM Standard F877 and
are CAN/CSA (B137.5) approved for use in AQUAPEX® potable water distribution
systems.

AQUAPEX®: A Superior Tube
The heart of the Wirsbo AQUAPEX® system is the tubing -
PEX. Used in modern plumbing systems, PEX offers many advantages over other plastic
and metal tubing. They range from health benefits resulting from its completely non-toxic
formulation, to an expected system life of well over 100 years.
AQUAPEX® is like no other plastic or metal tube
manufactured today. What sets AQUAPEX® apart from standard tubing material is
the way it's manufactured. Wirsbo takes polyethylene resin and, using a process called the
Engel Method, cross-links (or bridges) the molecules into a network structure.
Cross-linking provides superior strength, plus chemical and high temperature/pressure
resistance.
One of the many unique properties of Engel Method AQUAPEX®
tubing is its ability to remember its structural shape. If the tubing is accidentally
kinked during installation, heat applied to the kink will reform the tubing, returning it
to its original shape and strength.
AQUAPEX® is manufactured and listed to ASTM Standard
F876 and F877, for use in hot and cold potable water distribution systems. health effects
testing shows that AQUAPEX® is completely non-toxic - a comforting thought in
light of today's health concerns about lead, copper and other metal ions, as well as the
chemical contaminants released by some plastics.
A Home Run Every Time
AQUAPEX® systems may be installed using conventional
plumbing design. Additional benefits can result from using a design method known as
HOMERUN.
In the HOMERUN system, centrally located manifolds distribute water
to each fixture with dedicated hot and cold water lines.
The HOMERUN method requires additional tubing, but fewer fittings
are needed. The result is a competitive overall material cost and a faster installation.
With Wirsbo's patented dropear bend support, connections are required only at the manifold
and the point-of-use valve. Because there are no inaccessible connections, you have
greater system security.
Another important benefit of the HOMERUN system is its ability to
minimize pressure drops. We've all experienced the drop in pressure and temperature
fluctuation when two or more fixtures are used simultaneously. The HOMERUN system helps
eliminate pressure drop and temperature swings - something everyone appreciates during a
morning shower.

- Non-toxic, free of harmful lead, copper and other metal ions

- Equalized pressure drops, minimizes hot or cold surges
- Quiet, no water hammer noise
- Maintenance free
- Stands up to freezing better than any other tubing
- Competitively priced
- Insulates hot water lines
- 25 year limited warranty
