2300 GENERAL INFORMATION

Introduction

Yale's 2300 Series Door Closer is a durable economically priced closer for use on both exterior and interior doors in commercial and industrial applications. It is ideal for use with narrow stile aluminum doors and frames. The 1-3/4" x 9-5/8" (44mm x 244mm) body size of the 2300 Series makes it especially popular as a replacement for many closures.

The 2300 is a sized closer available in sizes 2, 3, 4 and 5. It is UL listed and backed by a five year limited warranty. Backcheck as well as a fraction hold open feature are available options. The 2300 is bi-packed for regular arm or top jamb installation. Parallel arm installation is available by ordering PA2300.

Yale's 2300 Series Door Closer is made in the U.S. at Yale's Monroe, North Carolina manufacturing facility.


Features

Non-Handed

Pinion shaft extends vertically through the closer body in both directions. This permits the closer to be positioned on either right or left hand doors for all applications. A cap conceals the closer shaft not in use.

Aluminum Alloy Shell

Lightweight with proven durability.

Positive Alignment Main Arm Broach

Arm broach configuration and marking help assure proper arm installation.

Rack and Pinion Construction

Provides a smooth transmission of power, for control of the door through its full opening and closing cycle.

Adjustable Sweep/Latch Speed

A dual purpose regulating valve that permits adjustment of both sweep and latch speed.

Adjustable Backcheck Cushioning

Available as an option; provides an adjustable hydraulic cushion to the door's opening speed at approximately 70° of the opening cycle. Order 2300BC Series.

Non-Hold Open Arm

Supplied as standard.

Adjustable Power Shoe

Supplied as standard for a 15% (+7-1/2%) power adjustment by relocating the forearm at the shoe, for regular arm and top jamb non-hold open installations.

Hold Open Arm

Can be templated and adjusted for 90° to 180° hold open. Order 2310 Series.


U. L. Listing

All Yale Series 2300 Door Closers with non-hold open arms are listed by Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. for use on labeled fire doors.

ANSI/BHMA Federal Specifications

Yale 2300 Series Door Closer is an ANSI Grade 3 closer designed and manufactured to meet or exceed the following specifications.

All Dimensions are for reference only and are in inches (mm) unless otherwise noted. Door sizing information is based on installation on standard weight doors, 7' 0" (2.13m) high x 1-3/4" (44mm) thick; hung on anti-friction hinges and operating under normal conditions. Doors in excess of 7' 8" (2.34m) high or 1-3/4" (44mm) thick, templated openings beyond 150° or doors subject to wind or draft conditions will generally require the next larger size closer.
