Yale 3000 Series Door Closer and Holder/Stops are available in the following sprayed finishes. List the Yale Symbol on the order.

Plated Finishes

Yale 3400M and 3500M Series Closers with full metal covers are available with the arm and cover in the following plated finishes. List the Yale Symbol on the order.

Suggested Specification

Use appropriate sections below for the types of closer or holder/stop you are specifying.

• General for all closers and holder/stops. 

Closer for                (interior) (and) (exterior) doors shall be full rack and pinion type with cast aluminum alloy shell. Closer shall be surface mounted and shall project no more than 2-1/8'' from the mounting surface. Closer shall be non-handed to permit installation on doors of either hand. Hydraulic fluid shall be non-gumming and non-freezing. Closer shall have two non-critical valves, hex-key adjusted to independently regulate closing and latch speed. (Closer shall have backcheck cushioning controlled by a hex-key adjusted valve.) Regular arm and top jamb closers shall have a non-hold-open arm jamb bracket permitting a 15% (+7-/2%) power adjustment. (Closer shall be enclosed in molded Slim cover.) (Closer shall be enclosed in a molded Full cover.) (Closer shall be enclosed in a Full Metal Cover plated with a               finish.)

• Sized Closers (reference pages 4 & 5 and sized Holder/Stops (reference page 9).

Closer to be sized in accordance with ANSI Specification A156.4-1980 (Closer shall have power adjustment to permit a 50% increase in power over the minimum ANSI closing force for each size.)

Closers to be Yale (3000, 3200, 3400, Series Basic Feature Closers) (3100, 3300, 3500 Series Full Feature Closers).

Holder/Stop shall have a positive stop to be self-aligning and non-handed (hold-open mechanism engaged by a (thumbturn) (hex-key). Holding mechanism shall be engaged at                ° of door opening. Holder/Stop to be Yale Series (3320) (3320K) (3320T) (3520) (3520K) (3520T).

• Multi-Sized Closers (reference pages 6 & 7) and Multi-Sized Holder/Stops (reference page 9).

Closer shall have multi-size spring power adjustment to permit setting of power from size (1 thru 4) (2 thru 6).

Closer to be Yale Series (3310) (3301BF) (3501) (3501BF).

Holder/Stop shall have a positive stop to be self-aligning and non-handed (hold-open mechanism selected by a (thumbturn) (hex-key). Holding mechanisms shall engage at                 ° of door opening. Holder/Stop to be Yale Series (3321) (3321K) (3321BF) (3321BF-K) (3321BF-T) (3521) (3521K)  (3521T) (3521BF)  (3521BF-K)  (3521BF-T).
