 POWER TRACK INTRODUCTION / CONTENTS
Introduction
Yale "Power Track" Closer-Holders combine the
functions of single point electromechanical door holder with the proven reliability of a
400 Series or 3000 Series door close. The track assembly contains an arm slide and
solenoid operated hold-open mechanism and is available with or without an integral smoke
detector. The Power Track unit, with its slide arm assembly, can be installed with a
choice of the following door closer controls: 405, 3205BC, 3300, 3405BC or 3505.
The closer is mounted on the door. The Power Track is
mounted to the frame face for pull side installations or the frame soffit for push side
installations.
The Power Track is an aluminum extrusion which incorporates
a solenoid actuated cam that locks the arm slide in the track at a selected point. The
degree of door hold-open is selected by adjustment of the telescoping arm. When there is
power to the unit, the door will hold open at the selected hold-open point. Any power
interruption will release the arm slide and the door will close. The door can be released
manually at any time by pushing toward the closed direction.
Yale Power Track Closer-Holders are available in three
basic functions for controlling fire/smoke doors.
Mater Unit - PTD Catalog No. Suffix : This
unit is comprised of an integral smoke detector, a solenoid hold-open mechanism in the
slide track and a door closer. The Master Unit can be used to control a single door or a
pair of doors in conjunction with either a Slave Unit or a Support Unit.
Slave Unit - PTS Catalog No. Suffix : This
Unit is for installation on one leaf of a pair of doors when the other leaf is controlled
by a "PTD" Master Unit. This unit is composed of a solenoid hold-open mechanism
in the slide track and a door closer. The Slave Unit will only operate on 24 VDC power
from the Master Unit.
Support Unit - PT Catalog No. Suffix: This
unit is comprised of a solenoid hold-open mechanism in the slid track and a door closer.
These units can be installed on a single door or a pair of doors when controlled by
compatible U.L. listed detection equipment such as area ceiling detectors, pull stations,
and remote alarm panels. They can also be used in conjunction with a Master Unit on a pair
of doors when the Master Unit smoke detector signals conditions (stand-by, trouble/ alarm)
to an alarm system's panel. The alarm panel controls the hold open function of both the
Support Unit and the Master Unit.
Note: Application of any Yale Power Track
Single-Point Hold-Open Closer-Holder Releasing Device should be checked for compliance
with both state and local codes.
Yale Series 400PT-RF/3000PT-RF Power Track
Closer/Holders with Remote RF Release
We've adapted the Radio Frequency technology of remote
controlled door operators to release a Yale Electromechanical Closer/Holder. We placed the
interrupting contacts of the radio-receiver-switch in the hold open circuit of the door
control. When the receiver is activated by the remote hand-held transmitter the contacts
interrupt the hold-open circuit and the door closes.
Installed on an executive office door, the door will be
held-open during normal business transaction. When security or privacy is desired, the
executive can close the door by simply operating the RF remote control in the same way he
probably closed his garage door when leaving his home.

Installed on a number of room along a corridor, the
Executive Door Control can be used to hold the doors open during normal business hours. At
the end of the day, all the doors can be closed by the security guard using duplicate
controllers. If individual office privacy is not a factor, all Executive Door Control
receivers can be set to a common frequency, permitting one controller to release all doors
within its range at the same time.
The Yale Executive Door Holder/Release is available with
any of the functions and configurations of Yale 400PT/3000PT Series Power Track
Closer/Holder. It incorporates the door closer and hold-open mechanism of the series
selected. The units have the same appearance as the series Master Units. It does not
however contain a smoke detector and is not intended for use in conjunction with
fire/smoke barrier door assemblies.
Installation is relatively simple. The Closer/Holder unit
requires only a three-wire grounded 120 VAC power supply. The remote control is operated
by a 9-Volt battery and is completely portable. It requires no wiring. A real advantage
initially and any time office furniture is rearranged. |
