SPECIFICATIONS / PACKING /FINISHES

Suggested Specs for 4500/4500DPS

Closers for ------------- interior (and) exterior doors shall be full rack and pinion type with cast aluminum body. Closers shall be concealed in a 4" (102mm) high frame header. The slide track shall be concealed in the top rail of the door. (Closer shall be provided with a fire blocking door liner to permits installation in 20 minute fire door assemblies.) Closer arm and slide track shall be completely concealed when door is closed. Hydraulic fluid shall be nongumming and nonfreezing. Closer shall have (four) (five) noncritical valves, hex key operated, to independently regulate closing speed, latch speed, backcheck position (and) backcheck cushioning (and delayed action closing). Closer shall have power adjustment to permit a 50% increase in power over the minimum closing force for any size.

Closer shall have an integral single pole double throw momentary contact switch with a normally open and a normally closed set of contacts to monitor (door open) (and) (or) (door closed) position(s). Switch shall be rated 5 Amp @ 30VDC/250VAC. Closer shall be provided with a test socket to assist with adjustment of the amount of door motion at which door position switch is activated.

Security dress plates shall cover the closer's base mounting plate to conceal closer unit's mounting screws, position switch adjustment screws, test socket, and hydraulic and power adjustments.

All mounting screws shall be torx lobular drive provided with a security pin in the center of the drive broach.

Hold open mechanism shall be capable of disengagement when holding function is not required. Hold open mechanism shall automatically engage at ----------- degrees of door opening and shall release with a manual pressure on the edge of the door in the direction of close. Slide track shall have built in cushioning shock absorber mechanism. (closer to be Yale 4500DPS Series) (with Yale 450 Fire Block) (Closer to be Yale 4500BF-DPS Series).

Packing Information

4500 Series

Yale 4500 Series Door Closers are packed one to a box, with appropriate arm and slide track, one hex key for control valve adjustment, one hex key for arm track fastening, one hex key for hold open tension adjustment (if applicable), installation instructions and both wood screws and machine screws for mounting.

4500DPS Series

Yale 4500DPS Series Door Closers are packed one to a box, with appropriate arm and slide track, one hex key for control valve adjustment, one hex key for hold open tension adjustment, installation instructions and machine screws for mounting.

Finishes

All Yale 4500/4500DPS Series Closers are available in the following sprayed finishes. List the Yale symbol on the order.'
