Security Door Closers - Page 2

Yale Security Inc.

INTRODUCTION / SPECIFICATIONS

Introduction

Yale's high security closers are designed for use in prisons, correctional facilities, government buildings, schools, financial institutions, or any installation where vandalism, abuse, escape, personal injury, or damage to doors, walls, and hardware are major concerns.

The Yale Series SSCR/SCP-400/4400 Security Closers offer the ultimate in extra heavy duty security. They feature Yale's top-of-the line heavy duty 400/4000 Series door closers with a variety of rigid arm options for regular arm and parallel arm installation including Holder-Stop with hold-open. Fixed-link arm assemblies are utilized on all mounts. Joints are permanent. Orbital riveted elbows and arm shoe/soffit plate joints prevent disassembly.

Only the extruded heavy duty metal cover is handed. The arm attaches to the frame with TORX screws, and a 4 -point security TORX fastening system resists tampering with the cover and closer body. These closer series are especially useful in high security correctional facilities.

Yale's 3000 Series Door Closers are offered with the same arm options as the 400/4400 Series, but without the security cover. TORX screws are provided as standard for tamper resistance. These closers are utilized  in school and industrial environments where heavy abuse and vandalism may occur.

The Yale Series 4500 Overhead Concealed Closer is installed in the header of hollow metal, aluminum, or wood frames. It is highly tamper resistant and completely concealed when the door is closed. The Series 4500DPS version features a door position switch which is designed to communicate a "door open'' and/or ''door closed'' situation to remote locations. 1/4'' movement of the door causes a lever arm to   actuate a switch. Movement may be adjusted. The cover plate attaches with TORX screws. The closer is especially useful in detention facilities, warehouses, or other controlled access environments. It may also be used to activate security cameras and alarms.

U.L. Listing

All Yale Series 400/4400 Security Closers with non-hold-open arms are listed by Under writer's Laboratories, Inc. for use on labeled fire doors.

Note: Yale 4900 Series Security door closers will meet the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act (A.D.A.), and   will comply with industry standards for opening and closing forces as established by the Builders Hardware Manufacturing Association (B.H.M.A.)
